
October 13, (THEWILL) — Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Rita Otibho Erewele as Chairman of the Edo State Senior Secondary Education Board.
Dr. Erewele replaces Dr. Maureen O. Ekhoragbon, who has been relieved of her duties with immediate effect.
In a statement on Monday, the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., described Dr. Erewele as an accomplished educationist and administrator with over two decades of progressive experience in Nigeria’s education sector.
She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Planning, as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Education from the University of Benin.
Dr. Erewele has served in various leadership roles, including lecturer, education consultant, and senior education officer.
Her contributions to policy development, teacher training, and curriculum reform have earned her recognition for excellence in academic leadership.
She is a member of professional bodies such as the Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP) and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
The statement added that her appointment takes immediate effect.
