Elections Will Be Held As Lawan, Ndume Accept Nominations

BEVERLY HILLS, June 11, (THEWILL) – The position of Senate President for the 9th Senate will be decided by elections.

This is because the two main contenders for the seat, Senator Ahmed Lawan and Senator Ali Ndume, have been nominated and have both accepted the nomination.

Lawan was nominated by Senator Yaya Abdulahi and seconded by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, also known by the alias Yayi.

Lawan went ahead to accept the nomination and went ahead to address the Senate.

In the same vein, Senator Ishaqu Abdul from Adamawa North nominated Ndume while Senator Ndidi Barinada from Rivers seconded the motion.

Like Lawan, Ndume accepted the nomination and addressed the Senate.

Elections is about to begin and the Clerk has announced it will be an open secret ballot.

Each senator will be called, given a ballot paper and would proceed to a cubicle to vote and then cast the paper into the ballot box in front of the clerk.
