BEVERLY HILLS, AUGUST 3, (THEWILL) – Dubai international airport has been shut down on Wednesday following an accident involving a landing Emirates plane.
The airport, regarded as the world’s busiest in terms of international passengers, was in the news as an Emirates plane with 275 people on board crash landed at the airport but all the passengers were evacuated safely, the government said.
“An Emirates plane coming from India has been involved in an accident on landing at Dubai International,” Dubai Media Office said on its Twitter account.
“All passengers were evacuated safely and no injuries have been reported so far.
“All operations (arrivals and departures) at (Dubai International) DXB have been suspended until further notice following the incident involving flight EK521.
Emirates also confirmed the incident.
“We can confirm flight EK521 from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai has been involved in an accident at Dubai International,” the carrier said on its Twitter account.
