March 23, (THEWILL) – Africa’s largest network carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, has announced plans to commence passenger flights to Hanoi, Vietnam, starting July 10, 2025.
The new service will operate four times a week, linking Addis Ababa, the airline’s hub, to Hanoi, further strengthening connectivity between Africa and Southeast Asia.
The airline’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mesfin Tasew, described the move as a strategic step towards expanding Ethiopian Airlines’ presence in the Southeast Asian market.
Tasew stated, “We are pleased to expand our presence in Southeast Asia and enhance air connectivity for our customers in the region.
“This new route will create opportunities for stronger ties and collaborations between Vietnam and our global network.”
The airline noted that the new route would serve business and leisure travelers while boosting trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Ethiopia.
The service will also connect seamlessly with Ethiopian Airlines’ extensive networks across Africa, Europe, and the Americas, offering more convenient travel options.
Ethiopian Airlines said the launch of the Hanoi service aligns with its broader strategic expansion plans, reinforcing its position as Africa’s most connected airline.
The new route is expected to enhance economic ties and investment opportunities while further establishing the airline’s footprint in the Asia-Africa aviation corridor.
