June 29, (THEWILL) – Enyimba of Aba striker, Chukwuemeka Obioma, has been announced as the recipient of the prestigious Eunisell Boot Award, following his remarkable performance in the 2022/2023 Nigerian Premier League season.
Obioma secured the title of highest goal scorer by netting an impressive 16 goals throughout the season, helping the People’s Elephant of Aba return to the winning podium. In recognition of his achievement, he will be presented with the Eunisell Boot and a prize of N200,000 for every goal scored, which comes up to a princely N3.2 million.
The Eunisell Boot Award, sponsored by the independent chemical, oil, and gas engineering solutions company, Eunisell, aims to inspire greatness among players in the domestic top-flight league and celebrate their success. The company’s Group Managing Director, Chika Ikenga, expressed admiration for Obioma’s exceptional form during the season: “Our sponsorship of the Eunisell Boot demonstrates our passion for Nigerian football and the advancement of players.”
He further acknowledged Obioma’s impressive goal-scoring ability, harping on the player’s ability to make scoring multiple goals in a game appear effortless. Notably, despite scoring double digits two years ago, Obioma narrowly missed out on the award, making his victory this season even more deserving. As noted earlier, Obioma’s goals not only earned him personal recognition but also contributed significantly to Enyimba’s success as a team.
The date and venue for the award ceremony, where Obioma will be decorated, will be announced by Eunisell.
