June 20, (THEWILL) – Christoph Baumgartner delivered a sensational performance for Austria on Tuesday, scoring two crucial goals in the dying minutes of their match to secure a comfortable 2-0 home win against a resolute but ineffective Sweden in their Euro 2024 Group F qualifier.
In the first half, the visitors struggled to create any significant threats in the attacking third, allowing Austria to take charge and launch a relentless offensive. Goalkeeper Robin Olsen, however, demonstrated outstanding reflexes and made a series of remarkable saves, denying Austria the breakthrough they deserved at halftime.

Baumgartner’s goals propelled Austria to the top of the group, amassing an impressive 10 points from four matches, with Belgium trailing behind by three points having played one game less. Meanwhile, Sweden finds themselves in third place with a mere three points.
