SAN FRANCISCO, July 03, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has traced a bank account with over N2.5billion in the name of a housemaid to a former female Minister.

Reports indicate that the account was opened by the former influential Minister using the name of the housemaid, without her knowledge, as part of the effort to cover her illicit wealth.

According to EFCC sources, although the account was opened in the name of the housemaid with her photograph, the former Minister is the sole signatory to the account and has been drawing funds from the said account.

The EFCC was able to retrieve the records of all transactions on the account and discovered that the volume of transactions in the account is huge with over N2.5billion left in the account.

“We will charge her to court, no matter how long it takes,” the source said.
