February 02, (THEWILL) — The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total sum of N1.969 trillion among the Federal Government, states, and Local Government Councils (LGs) as revenue for December 2025.

The distribution was finalized during the January 2026 FAAC meeting held in Abuja.

A communiqué signed by Bawa Mokwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations in the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, detailed that the N1.969 trillion total distributable revenue comprised statutory revenue of N1.084 trillion, Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N846.507 billion, and Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue of N38.110 billion.

Total gross revenue available in December 2025 stood at N2.585 trillion.

From this amount, N104.697 billion was deducted as the cost of collection, while N511.585 billion was set aside for transfers, refunds, and savings.

Gross statutory revenue for the month was N1.631 trillion, representing a decrease of N105.202 billion compared to the N1.736 trillion received in November 2025.

Conversely, gross VAT revenue saw a sharp increase, rising to N913.957 billion in December from N563.042 billion in November—an increase of N350.915 billion.

The breakdown of the distribution shows that the Federal Government received N653.500 billion, state governments received N706.469 billion, and Local Government Councils received N513.272 billion.

Additionally, the sum of N96.083 billion, representing 13 percent of mineral revenue, was shared among the benefiting oil-producing states as derivation revenue.

On the N1.084 trillion distributable statutory revenue, the Federal Government received N520.807 billion, states received N264.160 billion, and LGs received N203.656 billion.

From the N846.507 billion distributable VAT revenue, the Federal Government received N126.976 billion, the state governments received N423.254 billion, and the LGs received N296.277 billion.

Furthermore, a total sum of N5.717 billion was received by the Federal Government from the N38.110 billion EMTL, while the state governments received N19.055 billion and the LGs received N13.338 billion.

The communiqué noted that in December 2025, Companies Income Tax (CIT), Import Duty, and VAT increased significantly, while Oil and Gas Royalty and CET Levies recorded marginal increases. However, Excise Duty, Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), and EMTL recorded considerable decreases
