SAN FRANCISCO, July 13, (THEWILL) – Former minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari is in a pathetic and critical condition, urging Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to stop the lies Nigerians are being told regarding Buhari’s true state of health.
THEWILL recalls that Osinbajo had on Tuesday travelled to London to meet with the President, and returned with the news that his principal was in good spirits and would be coming back shortly.
Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, had before then made a veil reference to the likely return of her husband, when she said the “hyenas and the jackals” would be thrown out of the “kingdom”. Mrs. Buhari indicated that her ailing husband was getting better and would “soon return” to the country feeling “stronger”.
But in a statement issued on Thursday, Fani-Kayode thinks otherwise, calling on Buhari’s handlers to provide proof of life concerning the President.
He said, “I am constrained to tell the Nigerian people that President Buhari is not better and he will never return as president. The truth is that his situation is pathetic and critical.
“Acting President Osinbajo should stop the lies. Nigerians have a right to know the truth.
“I call on the cabal to stop the cover up and show us our President. I challenge them to put him in front of a camera and let him talk. I challenge them to let him tell us what country he is in, who the leader of that country is, what date it is and what the weather is like outside,
“I challenge them to give us proof of life and proof of lucidity.”
Speaking further, the ex-minister said, “I challenge them to prove to us that he is familiar with his environment and that he knows who he is seeing, who he is talking to and what he is saying.
“I challenge them to prove to us that he is not suffering from chronic dementia and that he is not a vegetable that is hooked up to a life-support machine.”
Fani-Kayode said that if Osinbajo and the President’s handlers refused to do any or all of these things “it means that there is more to the whole thing than meets the eye and they have something hideous and very ugly to hide.”
Meanwhile, the Presidency same Thursday disclosed that Buhari had written and called the founding chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Bisi Akande, on the telephone to condol him over the death of his wife, Omowunmi.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Thursday.
Shehu quoted the President as expressing “heart-felt” sadness over the death of Akande’s wife of 50 years.
The message reads, “I received the very sad news of the death of your dearly beloved wife, Madam Omowunmi Akande this morning. I am following our phone call with this letter of condolence, which comes from my heart.
“To lose a wife, a dear wife after 50 years, a constant and loving companion through good and bad times, is a blow only a man of unshakeable faith can withstand. Please extend my personal condolences to the immediate and wider Akande family and to friends of the family for this irreparable loss.
“May Allah give you the strength and Iman to endure her passing away.”
