May 08, (THEWILL) — The Federal High Court has expanded its judicial reach across the country following the approval and deployment of 14 newly appointed judges by the Chief Judge, Justice John Tsoho, alongside the reposting of three existing judges.
The posting schedule, which takes effect from May 13, was contained in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the Director of Information of the court, Dr Catherine-Oby Christopher.
The redeployment followed recommendations of the National Judicial Council (NJC) after recent judicial appointments.
According to the statement, all affected judges are to report to their respective judicial divisions across the federation as part of efforts to strengthen access to justice, improve case distribution, and enhance the efficiency of the court system nationwide.
“Following the recent appointment of 14 new judges and the reposting of three existing judges of the Federal High Court, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, has approved and released a new posting schedule for judges of the Court to various judicial divisions across the country,” the statement said.
Under the new deployment, Justice Hassan Dikko has been posted to the Gusau Division in Zamfara State, while Justice Salim Olasupo Ibrahim and Justice Onah Chigozie Sergius will serve at the Abuja Division.
Justice Sulaiman Amida Hassan has been assigned to the Osogbo Division in Osun State.
In the North-Central region, Justice Muhammad Saidu will serve at the Minna Division in Niger State, while Justice Binjin-Eigegbe Nendelmum Judith has been posted to the Lokoja Division in Kogi State.
For the South-West, Justice Igboko Conchita has been assigned to the Akure Division in Ondo State, and Justice Abubakar Usman will serve at the Ado-Ekiti Division in Ekiti State.
In the South-South, Justice Onuegbu Angela has been posted to the Yenagoa Division in Bayelsa State, while Justice Ikpeme Bassey will serve at the Uyo Division in Akwa Ibom State.
Justice Usoro Uduak has also been assigned to the Lagos Division.
In the North-East, Justice Ibrahim Eneabo will serve at the Gombe Division, Justice Salihu Yunusa has been posted to Damaturu in Yobe State, while Justice Shehu Adamu will preside at the Maiduguri Division in Borno State.
Justice Mohammed Buba has been deployed to the Dutse Division in Jigawa State, while Justice Galumje Edingah will serve at the Abakaliki Division in Ebonyi State.
The Chief Judge directed all judges to assume duty at their respective stations on May 13, in line with the approved schedule.
