BEVERLY HILLS, March 07, (THEWILL) –Â The original FIFA World Cup trophy, on Wednesday, arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, aboard a chartered flight.
Sports minister, Solomon Dalung, the Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick; and other officials were at the airport to receive the trophy.
The trophy, which will go on a tour of 91 cities in 51 countries across six continents before the World Cup commences, touched down at the Airport around 11am.
THEWILL gathered that the trophy will be on display at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja before it will be taken to the Presidential Villa.
On Thursday, a consumer viewing of the trophy will take place at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja.
The trophy will then be flown to Lagos on Friday, where it will be received by the Lagos state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, and members of his cabinet.
A consumer viewing of the trophy will take place on Saturday at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
