January 06, (THEWILL) – The Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, Muhammadu Sifawa, has lost his daughter and three grandchildren to a fire outbreak in the early hours of Monday.
The incident happened at the home of his daughter, a housewife to the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Sports and Youths Development, Muhammadu Bello.
THEWILL gathered that the fire, which started in the wee hours of the night, engulfed the entire house while the family was sleeping.
Men of the state fire service were said to have battled for hours to bring the fire under control.
The remains of the deceased housewife and her three children are scheduled for burial at the Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque Sifawa at about midnight today.
The burial will take place at the family home of the SSG.
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
