BEVERLY HILLS, November 05, (THEWILL) – The Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs has asked officials of the State House to fix and modernize the presidential clinic so that President Muhammadu Buhari can start using it and stop travelling abroad for his medicals.
Committee chair, Senator Danjuma La’ah spoke when the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Mr. Tijani Umar, appeared before members of the panel Thursday to defend his N19.7bn 2021 budget proposal of which N1.3 billion was set aside for the State House Clinic.
The chairman insisted that the president and top officials would have to stop travelling abroad for treatment as soon as the facility is modernized.
Nigeria’s healthcare system and delivery is problematic because of decades of neglect and lack of investments.
