November 06, (THEWILL) — Manchester City ended Borussia Dortmund’s unbeaten UEFA Champions League campaign with a convincing 4-1 victory. Phil Foden scored twice while Erling Haaland returned to torment his former side at Signal Iduna Park.
Foden opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after receiving a throughball from Tijjani Reijnders.
The England international created space before curling his shot into the bottom-left corner past Gregor Kobel.
Seven minutes later, Haaland doubled the advantage when he met Jeremy Doku’s cutback unmarked in the centre of the penalty area and fired home.
City continued to dominate and Kobel made important saves to deny Nico O’Reilly and Reijnders before half-time.

Dortmund increased their attacking pressure and pulled one back through Anton, who beat Gianluigi Donnarumma with a low effort. The German side pushed for a second but could not reduce the deficit further.
Rayan Cherki sealed the three points for City in the first minute of stoppage time with a low drive.
The result confirmed City’s superiority on the night and brought Dortmund’s perfect start to the competition to an end.
