Forest Beat Tottenham 3-0

December 14, (THEWILL) — Nottingham Forest defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 at the City Ground to move five points clear of the English Premier League relegation zone. The victory restored momentum for Sean Dyche’s side following their 3-0 defeat to Everton in their previous fixture.

Forest took the lead in the 28th minute after Guglielmo Vicario’s poor distribution put Archie Gray under pressure. Ibrahim Sangare dispossessed the midfielder on the edge of the penalty area and passed to Callum Hudson-Odoi, who finished to give the home side a deserved advantage. Gray almost responded immediately with a sharp shot, but John Victor, making his EPL debut, produced a fine save.

The hosts doubled their lead early in the second half when Vicario misjudged the flight of Hudson-Odoi’s cross-shot, allowing the ball to creep into the net. Forest had threatened to extend their advantage before the interval, with Ibrahim Sangare hitting the post inside five minutes and Neco Williams forcing a save from Vicario on the rebound.

Sangare completed the scoring with a superb strike that hit the post before crossing the line, capping an outstanding individual display in midfield. Omari Hutchinson and Igor Jesus also went close for the home side during the contest.

The comprehensive win lifts Forest further away from danger in the top flight, with Hudson-Odoi and Sangare delivering the quality required. Tottenham struggled throughout and were punished for defensive mistakes and poor goalkeeping.
