BEVERLY HILLS, February 04, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared a former Governor of Adamawa, retired Admiral Murtala Nyako and his son, Abdul Aziz Murtala Nyako, wanted over “a case of criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.”
EFCC spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, made the development public to the local media.
Since his impeachment from office in 2014 over allegations of financial misconduct and abuse of office, Nyako has kept a very low profile with reports suggesting that he now lives abroad.
Nyako was one of the five governors of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that defected to the main opposition All Progressives Congress in 2013.
