BEVERLY HILLS, CA, October 28, (THEWILL) – Former military Vice President and ex Chief of General Staff, Admiral Mike Okhai Akhigbe, finally gave up the ghost on Monday afternoon (EST) in his New York, USA home after a protracted battle with cancer, THEWILL can authoritatively report.
His family had earlier debunked reports of his death on Monday after several news mediums erroneously reported his demise early this morning even though he was still alive. The news mediums did retract their earlier reports.
However, a source very close to the Akhigbes told THEWILL via telephone late Monday afternoon that “Admiral finally gave up the ghost this afternoon in New York.”
The source added that plans were being made to fly his remains back to Edo State for burial.
Akhigbe died at 68.
