BEVERLY HILLS, April 11, (THEWILL) – The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recalled the Sector Commander of the Rivers state Command, Andrew Kumapayi, for cutting the hair of female officials.
Pictures of Kumapayi cutting the hairdo of female officials during a general inspection, carried out at the FRSC headquarters in Port Harcourt, had gone viral on the internet on Monday leading to a backlash from concerned citizens.
The female road marshals were reportedly accused of sporting long hairs which prevented their caps from sitting well on their heads while Kumapayi was pictured cutting the female officer’s hair with a pair of scissors.
However, FRSC’s Head of Media and Strategy, Bisi Kazeem, told journalists on Tuesday that Kumapayi and other officers involved in the act had been recalled.
Kazeem said that Kumapayi’s action was outside the mandate of the commission declaring that the commission will mete out appropriate sanctions to the officers involved after due investigation.
