God Made No Mistake Putting Nigerians In One Country – Osinbajo

BEVERLY HILLS, June 08, (THEWILL) – The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday declared that the lumping together of the peoples of Nigeria in one country was not a mistake, but was divinely ordained.

He pointed out that the hate notions being propagated in the country were used to only advance the interests of the preachers, and not the interest of the country. He added that hate only appealed to the lowest people whose motives were both faulty and hypocritical.

The Acting President spoke during the breaking of Muslim fast, Iftar, also attended by Christian faithful at the Conference Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The event was organised by the Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, to bring Muslim and Christian faithful together in order to achieve greater unity among the various religious organisations in the country.

According to Osinbajo, “Any time people operate along the law of unity, they will achieve more.

“Our country is about people who God put together so that we can build a country that will be a pride to the world.”

Maintaining that God did not make a mistake in putting the country together, he urged all Nigerians to always remember that the nation was meant to be a weapon in God’s hands for Him to do greater things for the people.

Osinbajo stated that the country presently requires men and women who could do greater things for the nation as against those spreading hate against others.

He went on to commend Mrs Buhari for putting the Iftar together to celebrate the unity of purpose of the people irrespective of religious or ethnic persuasions.

In an address of welcome, the President’s wife, who was represented by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, harped on the benefits of fasting for the spiritual and physical development of the individual.

She then urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in their prayers for the country and thanked them for their prayers for the quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari.
