
July 05, (THEWILL) — Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has approved the appointment of Professor Qrisstuberg Amua as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Ihugh, and three other principal officers.
The release named Dr Johnson Ijale Echor as Registrar, with Mr James Ormye serving as the University Bursar, while Dr Demekaa Umbur is the Librarian.
In a statement in Makurdi on Saturday, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, said the governor also appointed Prof. Boniface Ode Ogbu as the Provost, College of Education, Oju, Mr Anta Igbaato as Acting General Manager, Benue State Sanitation Authority, and Mr Bem Tseen as the Acting Education Secretary of the Teaching Service Board.
“This development is in furtherance of the Governor’s commitment to repositioning all institutions of government for optimal service delivery, efficiency, and accountability”, it added.
According to Sir Kula, the new appointees were carefully selected based on their track record of competence, dedication, and integrity. The Governor congratulated and charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by discharging their duties diligently and in line with the administration’s vision of transforming Benue State.
The statement directed the present Acting Executive Secretary, Teaching Service Board and the Acting Chairman, Benue Internal Revenue Services, to report back to the Head of Service of Benue state for reassignment of other responsibilities, while the Acting General Manager, BENSESSA, is to report back to the Governor’s office.
The statement added that all the appointments take effect on July 7, 2025.
