November 28, (THEWILL) – Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, conducted an inspection of the Christmas Park in Uyo to evaluate preparations for the much-anticipated 2024 Christmas Unplugged 2.0.

The governor was welcomed to the park by the state’s Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Charles Udoh, who provided a detailed tour of the facilities and outlined progress made in preparation for the festival.

In his remarks, Eno commended the Commissioner for his commitment to ensuring the state is fully prepared for the event.

He described Christmas Unplugged 2.0 as a platform to showcase Akwa Ibom’s cultural wealth, culinary excellence, and economic potential to the world.

“This event is more than just a celebration; it is a unique opportunity to tell our story, share our heritage, and invite the world to experience the beauty and hospitality of Akwa Ibom,” the governor said.

Eno expressed satisfaction with the work done so far and urged all stakeholders to remain steadfast in delivering a world-class festival.

 He underscored the cultural and economic benefits of the event, highlighting its potential to boost tourism, create jobs, and enhance Akwa Ibom’s reputation as a premier destination for festive celebrations.

Udoh, addressing the press after the inspection, assured residents and visitors of a memorable experience during the 2024 Christmas Unplugged 2.0.

 He disclosed that the festival, scheduled to run from December 1, 2024, to January 2, 2025, will feature a variety of attractions, including cultural displays, culinary exhibitions, live performances, and other entertainment activities.

“This year, we are creating something extraordinary for public participation.

 “The festival will celebrate our cultural heritage while demonstrating our creativity and innovation. We invite everyone from within and outside Nigeria to experience this grand showcase,” Udoh said.
