
May 23, (THEWILL) – Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has donated a brand-new bus to the Faculty of Nursing Sciences, College of Medicine, Imo State University.
This gesture is part of the government’s commitment to support institutions and ensure the upgrade of the College of Medicine.
Presenting the bus on Wednesday on behalf of the governor, his Chief of Staff, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie reiterated that the donation aligns with the government’s efforts to support institutions, upgrade the College of Medicine, and bolster healthcare initiatives across the state.
He lauded Governor Uzodimma’s achievements in infrastructure development and security, noting that the new bus is expected to significantly enhance the mobility of both faculty and students.
Anyaehie urged the institution’s management to utilise the bus effectively, ensuring it serves its intended purpose.
Responding, the Provost of the College of Nursing Sciences, Prof. Jude Egwurugwu, expressed profound appreciation to the Governor for the kind gesture and for the substantial investment made to upgrade the institution.
Prof. Egwurugwu revealed that the Department of Nursing Services at Imo State University was recently elevated to a faculty. This upgrade aims to secure an increased admission quota for students.
He further stated that the Governor also funded the resource assessment of the Faculty of Nursing Sciences, a crucial step towards realising the institution’s dream of an expanded student intake. He concluded by thanking the Governor for his numerous contributions to the institution.
