January 20, (THEWILL) – Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has praised the state police command for maintaining peace and calm across the state, attributing the tranquility to the proactive measures adopted by the force.

Yusuf expressed his appreciation on Monday when he received the wife of the Inspector General of Police and President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association, Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, during her courtesy visit to the Government House.

He acknowledged the efforts of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Salman Dogo Garba, and the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone One, noting their significant contributions to ensuring security in Kano.

“Kano has never had it so good. We now have a committed team of police officers, led by a diligent Commissioner of Police, working tirelessly alongside the AIG to keep the state safe and secure,” the governor stated.

Yusuf also commended Mrs. Egbetokun for her leadership and dedication to the welfare of police families.

He pledged his administration’s continued support for the police, particularly in the provision of logistics to enhance their capacity to safeguard lives and property.

In a further demonstration of his support, the governor announced plans to allocate a plot of land and financial assistance to the state chapter of POWA to facilitate the construction of its secretariat.
