Governor’s Fear Fulfilled As Gunmen Kill Four In Taraba

BEVERLY HILLS, February 02, (THEWILL) – Barely seven hours after Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba state raised the alert that the state was going be attacked, unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen attacked and killed four persons in Ngutsen village of Wurojam ward in Gasol local government area of Taraba state.

Curiously, Wurojam is about 20 kilometres away from Jibu village where Bala Danhabu, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Governor Ishaku, recently alleged that a Helicopter landed with arms.

An eye witness who spoke to Vanguard said the attackers arrived the village at about 9 pm on Thursday with sophisticated arms and also in large number.

“They came in our village in large number, it is by the grace of God that we from the village were having sleepless nights since the rumour of the landing of Helicopter close to our village here, we were able alert our people,” the source stated.

“Though four persons were killed, two women and two men, several people were injured and they taking treatment at several hospitals as we speak.

THEWILL recalls that Ishaku, in a meeting with the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, raised an alarm that he received a letter stating that the state would be attacked within 10 days.
