November 08, (THEWILL) – A political lobby group, Youth Empowerment Initiative of Nigeria (YEIN), has launched a bid to effect a change in the political leadership of Nigeria come 2027.
The Plateau State Coordinator of the group, Haris Ibrahim, said during the launch of the movement in Jos, that the main objective of the initiative is to mobilise youths throughout the country to coalesce efforts and come out en masse to vote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu out of power in the next presidential election because his regime and reign have only brought hardship and poverty.
According to Ibrahim, the initiative has just been launched and is currently moving fast in major areas in Northern Nigeria, and it hopes to approach and convince Hamza Al Mustafa, a former chief security officer to the late head of state, General Sani Abacha, to accept their bid and utilise their support base to run for the presidency of Nigeria in 2027.
Explaining that the movement originated in the North, mostly among traders, he also said the group has been meeting to fine-tune its scope and mode of operation, but has, however, not contacted their idol, Al Mustafa to buy into their initiative.
Ibrahim said the group is being sponsored by contributions and sacrifices made by the members, and that no single individual anywhere can lay claim to sponsoring its activities and programmes as the whole project rests on pulling resources together by like minds with a shared vision.
He further stated that although their next ports of call are Kano and Katsina, it should not be mistaken that their operations are limited to the North, as they would soon launch and spread all over the thirty-six states of the country and Abuja.
Ibrahim said registration and mobilisation of members are continuing as the movement is well received by the lower class of people who are mostly farmers, traders, and drivers who have agreed to come together and work to give Nigeria a new political outlook and end the subsisting poor and deplorable state of affairs that are forcing Nigerians to seek citizenship in other climes.
