May 31, (THEWILL) – The Egbuoma Progressive Union and Egbuoma Global Political Forum have lauded Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma and the Commissioner for Niger Delta Affairs, Hon. Henry Okafor, for their dedication towards the development of the State.
In a statement jointly signed by the President General, Egbuoma Progressive Union, Linus Chinyerenwa; Honourable Cmr. Uche Chukwudi, representative of the Egbuoma Global Political Forum; Egbuoma Stakeholder, Mr Livinus Onyema; Chief Administrator, Egbuoma Global Political Forum, Chief Leonard Ugoberelaoji; and the Coordinator, Egbuoma Global Political Forum, Hon Comr Austin Mgborokwu, the groups congratulated Chief Okafor on his appointment as Commissioner.
They also said they would continue to show their unalloyed support to Governor Hope Uzodimma, who, according to them, has performed immensely well in Imo and Nigeria in general.
“The Governor is our good brother and good friend. We want to use this medium to appreciate the Governor on the good work he is doing, especially the approval and commissioning of Orashi River and Oguta Lake dredging to the Atlantic Ocean,” they said.
The groups, however, appealed to the Governor, through the Commissioner, over a perennial drainage problem in their Community, adding that the road from Afor Egbu junction to Obana needs drainage.
“Roads that need urgent attention are Umunwachukwu Umuolowu Road and Umuezike Egbu to Egbuoma Oguta Road.
“Our Health centres need medical equipment. We need Doctors and Nurses to take care of the health challenges of our people,” they said, adding that for over nine years, the community had no electricity due to dilapidated transformers.
The groups also regretted that they disclosed that their school buildings were in a deplorable state and therefore, called on the Governor to carry the Egbuoma Community along in the scheme of things.
