November 21, (THEWILL) – Pep Guardiola has committed his immediate future to Manchester City by signing a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2027.
The agreement, announced on Thursday, ends speculation about the manager’s future with the English Premier League champions.
The Spanish tactician, who had entered the final six months of his previous contract, put an end to exit rumours by declaring he is “not moving”.
This extension will mark a significant milestone, taking Guardiola beyond a decade of service with the Manchester Club, following his arrival in 2016.

Current sporting director Txiki Begiristain will depart in the summer of 2025, with Sporting CP executive Hugo Viana stepping into the role. Viana will collaborate with Begiristain during the transition period to maintain operational continuity.

The pinnacle of their success came in 2023 when the team clinched their first UEFA Champions League trophy, complementing their numerous domestic cup victories.

Guardiola’s decision to extend his tenure follows earlier uncertainty when in May he had suggested he might be “closer to leaving than staying”.
