October 02, (THEWILL) — Two serving councillors in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State have been abducted by suspected bandits.
The victims, who represent Gidan Gona and Tsibiri wards, were seized on Wednesday evening in front of their residence in the Tsauni area while relaxing shortly after the Maghrib prayers.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the incident, adding that security operatives have launched efforts to rescue the councillors and apprehend the assailants.
