BEVERLY HILLS, November 03, (THEWILL) – Gunmen Sunday night invaded a Nigerian Prison facility in Koton-Karfe, Kogi State, freeing all 145 inmates and destroying records as well.
The attack, the second within two years, occurred on Sunday night at about 10.pm when most of the prison guards had retired for the night.
THEWILL gathered that the gunmen gained access into the facility after blowing up a part of the fence cordoning it.
Briefing State Governor, Captain Idris Wada, the State Comptroller of Prisons, Mr. Omale Adams said 119 of the freed inmates were awaiting trial while 26 of them were convicts.
