Gunmen Kidnap Lecturer In Port Harcourt, Demand N2m

BEVERLY HILLS, AUGUST 2, (THEWILL) – A Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Port Harcourt, Dr. Reginald Ohiri has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Ohiri was kidnapped on Monday night from his residence in Aluu community, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

THEWILL can confirm that the kidnappers have established contact with the family of the victim and are demanding N2 million ransom for his release.

THEWILL gathered that arrived the residence of the lecturer and forced their way into his compound through the gate.

Nnamdi Omoni, Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, also confirmed the incident but added that he didn’t have all the details but assured that the force would swing into action immediately to rescue the lecturer.

Dr. William Wodi, Spokesman of the university also confirmed the development, but said he is not aware of when he was abducted.
