Gunmen Kidnap Octogenarian Dad Of Oil Magnate, Kyabiz, In Benue

SAN FRANCISCO, January 02, (THEWILL) – The Benue state Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of Pa Atser Kyausu, an octogenarian and father of Makurdi-based oil businessman, popularly known as Kyabiz.

The Benue State Command Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Moses Yamu, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the octogenarian was again kidnapped in his home in Vandeikya LGA on December 28, 2017.

He said the gunmen stormed the house of the victim in a red Toyota car and bundled Pa Kyausu into the vehicle and drove away.

He added that the gunmen had yet to contact the family or make their demands for ransom, even as he said security operatives were already on the trail of the kidnappers.

This is the second time Pa Kyausu would be kidnapped as he was first abducted in 2015 at his residence in Vandeikya Local Government Area by some gunmen and rescued by the police.

The leader of the kidnap gang, who was wounded during the rescue operation in a gun duel with the police, was paraded but later died; while three other members of the gang who were paraded with him were charged to court and remanded in Makurdi prison.
