SAN FRANCISCO, July 23, (THEWILL) – Internet hackers have attacked Pointblanknews.com corrupting several thousands of news files and its WordPress with malware, the website said Wednesday.
The widely read online news site, said the website has been down since last week Thursday because its admin has been compromised and news stories cannot be uploaded.
Mr. Jackson Ude, the Publisher and Editor-In-Chief, in a statement said technicians with the hosting company have been working since last week to clean up the malware.
According to Ude, “Our host organizations have been working since last week to clean up the files. As you know, we have hundreds of thousands files that dates back since 2007 when we began.”
The website should be fully restored within the 24 hours, the website said.
“Based on the level of work and cleaning so far carried out by our technicians, we hope to be back online within the next 24 hours,” Ude added.
