BEVERLY HILLS, CA, April 21, (THEWILL) – A former reporter with the Delta State-owned Pointer Newspaper, Comrade Cyril Urude, is dead. Aged 38, Urude died on Friday in Abuja after he was knocked down near his house by a hit and run driver.
The deceased, who was on secondment with Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), as a Personal Assistant to the Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical) of the Commission, Dr. (Mrs.) Sharon Oriero-Oviemuno, relocated to Abuja only two months before his death.
He had moved to Abuja in order to be closer to his wife who got a job in Abuja last year.
Urude who was born on April 6, 1976, and got married on April 6, 2009 had celebrated his marriage anniversary few weeks ago before he met his untimely death on April 18.
He is survived by a wife, three kids, siblings and aged mother and father.
The funeral arrangement for the deceased released by his family said there will be a service of song in his honour on Tuesday, April 22, at his family compound behind Urusewe street, Oleh, Delta State at 5: pm to be followed by a requiem mass at St. John de Baptist Catholic Church, Oleh on Wednesday.
