
February 26, (THEWILL) – Terrorists suspected to be members of Boko Haram have attacked Kwapre and surrounding villages in Yadul District of Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The village head of Kwapre, Joel Kulaha, and his counterpart from King village, Abalis Jawaja, told newsmen that the attacks which began at about 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday lasted until the early hours of Wednesday.
Although no lives were lost, Kulaha confirmed that houses, schools, and businesses were razed while valuable assets were looted.
He said residents who were forewarned of the attack fled their homes ahead of time.
A source said soldiers stationed in nearby Garaha town engaged the attackers in a gun battle, forcing them to retreat.
Authorities in the state including the Adamawa Police Command have not issued any statement on the incident.
