SAN FRANCISCO, March 27, (THEWILL) – Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has revealed that he is sad and frustrated over his inabilty to join the Super Eagles for the pre-world cup friendly matches.
Mikel missed the friendly against Poland on Friday and would miss the match against Serbia in London today, Tuesday.
THEWILL gathered that Mikel was held back in China as he tried to sort out his work permit.
Writing on his Instagram page, Mikel wrote: “Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I will not be on the field for our game v Serbia.
“I am sad, and frustrated, but giving my full support to the team for another WIN! #SoarSuperEagles.”
Mikel who plays for Tianjin Teda last wore the Super Eagles jersey in their 4-2 win over Argentina in an international friendly in Krasnodar last November.
