BEVERLY HILLS, September 01, (THEWILL) – Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Wednesday declared that Nigeria, and indeed the whole of Africa, is waiting for the manifestation of Igbo people, adding that he has seen light at the end of the tunnel for Ndigbo in the country.
He stated this at the Government House Owerri while receiving the wives of the Southeast governors who were at the state for this year’s August meeting.
“The Igbo are very unique creatures of God. Nigeria is waiting for Ndigbo. Africa is waiting for Ndigbo. I can see light at the tunnel of Ndigbo,” Okorocha said.
Speaking about the much-talked about meeting, he pointed out that “Of all the meetings we have been having, this is the best. There is nothing a man can do without a good woman behind him. In my government, through my programmes and policies, I have encouraged women.”
The Imo governor also used the occasion to predict the out of the United States, U.S’ presidential election, saying, “Mrs. Bill Clinton is coming soon as President of America. It looks as if there is a turn around.”
But in what appears to be a contradiction of his earlier position about the situation in U.S, Okorocha said in the Nigerian context, “Our wives, you have to wait small because we have not finished our work.”
