March 18, (THEWILL) – The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori as the new Commissioner of Police for the Kano State Command.
A statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, on Monday, said the posting aligns with the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to strengthening security and ensuring effective policing in the state.
CP Bakori, a seasoned law enforcement officer, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served in various operational, investigative, and administrative capacities.
His past assignments include serving as Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector-General of Police and Commissioner of Police in charge of the Homicide Section at the Force Criminal Investigation Department.
The IGP tasked CP Bakori with leveraging his expertise in intelligence, security management, and community policing to bolster security in Kano.
“He is expected to build on the successes of his predecessor, enhance community policing initiatives, and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders to improve public trust and safety in the state,” the statement read.
The Force urged residents of Kano State to cooperate with the new police commissioner as he works to maintain law and order.
