SAN FRANCISCO, July 12, (THEWILL) – Victor Nosa Ikpeba, a former Super Eagles and AS Monaco striker, has applauded Rangers international of Enugu for honoring their late striker, Ifeanyi George by retiring his number 15 jersey and announcing a twenty (20) million naira insurance compensation for the immediate family of the deceased soccer player, who passed on in March.

Ikpeba, speaking to the press, said: “I want to commend Rangers international for the Insurance cover of their late striker. That is the way to go and it shows the level of the man in charge, Davidson Owumi ably supported by Enugu State Government. Owumi was a player and knows what it is to take good care of his players.”

THEWILL reports that the late Ifeanyi, who earned two senior caps for Nigeria before he died in an auto crash during a trip from Enugu to Lagos on March 22, 2020, following the suspension of the league due to the coronavirus, was part of the squad that won the famous 2018 Aiteo Cup for Rangers in Asaba.
