SAN FRANCISCO, November 04, (THEWILL) – An Assistant Comptroller at the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr. Abdulrazak Umaru Ruma, suddenly collapsed and died on Monday in Minna, the Niger State capital, while presenting a paper at a stakeholders consultative forum hosted by the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs.
He slumped barely midway into his presentation.
Ruma, who represented the Niger State Comptroller of the service at the event, which took place at the Justice Legbo Kutigi Conference Centre, was certified dead at the General Hospital in Minna, where he was evacuated to for treatment.
The spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, Mr. Richard Oguche told reporters that preliminary investigations showed that the deceased had a history of high blood pressure and Asthma.
