July 23, (THEWILL) – Ahead of the September 21, local government elections in Imo State, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship aspirant for Oru West LGA, Hon. Alphonsus Okike, has pledged to give youths and women of the council a renewed sense of hope and help create opportunities for collective prosperity of the people of the area if elected chairman.

Okike, who spoke with journalists at the Imo State APC secretariat in Owerri, on Monday, shortly after obtaining the nomination and expression of interest forms, said under his watch, youth restiveness in the area would be a thing of the past as he would work hard to restore hope to the people and help them achieve a meaningful life.

“I know my people, I know their problems, and I know how to handle it. I am a grassroots person and I know that with their support, the right thing will be done. In the September 21 local government election, the good people of Oru West are going to support me,” he said.

The chairmanship aspirant also promised to carry everybody along in the scheme of things and ensure that the challenges of the people of Oru West are addressed if elected as chairman.

He promised to do well in the areas of agriculture, education, commerce, industry, youth development and empowerment among others.

Okike also promised to key into the empowerment and skills acquisition programme of the shared prosperity administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma in the council area, adding that he would ensure he runs an inclusive government that will benefit his people.
