Nyako was one of the five governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) some months back.

The Adamawa State House of Assembly which initiated impeachment proceedings against the duo in June is controlled by the PDP.

If they are found guilty of the charges, their impeachment will go through except they resign from office or the House backs down.
