November 07, (THEWILL) – The Jama Jama App Initiative has pledged support for the Lagos State empowerment programme, enhancing the opportunities available to artisans across the state through a targeted digital platform.
In a recent drive to boost the economic potential of skilled artisans, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu empowered 800 artisans and 400 tradespeople from 60 trade associations, equipping them with modern tools and equipment at the 12th graduation ceremony of the Lagos State Skill Acquisition Centres.
During the event, Jama Jama representatives highlighted their commitment to integrating these artisans into their online platform, offering a broader reach for the graduates.
Through the app, the artisans can display their expertise, connect with clients, and access additional resources for skill advancement.
On October 30, 2024, Jama Jama introduced the “Artisans Network,” a specialized section on their app where graduates from skill acquisition centres can register free of charge.
This network provides artisans with essential business tools like scheduling, invoicing, and client management, enabling them to effectively run their operations and maintain strong client relationships.
The partnership reflects the synergy of public and private sector efforts, blending Lagos State’s support with innovative digital solutions to drive economic empowerment.
According to the firm’s representatives, “This collaboration enhances the artisans’ visibility, boosts their reputation, and creates a dynamic, supportive community for local craftsmanship.”
They added that the initiative aligns with Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda, which prioritises social inclusion, youth empowerment, and equal economic opportunities for Lagos residents.
In a recent inspection at the Eko Job Center in Ikorodu, the Lagos State government reaffirmed its dedication to these initiatives, reinforcing the commitment to skill development and economic growth for artisans.
This partnership with Jama Jama represents a promising era for skill development and empowerment across Lagos.
