SAN FRANCISCO, November 28, (THEWILL) – The Chief Executive Officer of Jed Air, Captain Nogie Meggison, has emerged as the chairman of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON). He is to oversee the affairs of the association for the next two years. Also elected as Vice President is the Chief Operating Officer of DANA Air, Mr. Yvan Drewinsky.
The election, which brought them into office took place at the Annual General Meeting ( AGM ) of the AON on Thursday and was conducted by Banwo & Ighodalo, a law firm .
Meggison, in his acceptance speech, said the AON will work as a formidable team to move the industry forward and engage all stakeholders on issues that affect the industry.
He said the era when AON members spoke in discordant tones was over as he promised that the new executive will strategise on issues that affect operators before taking a position.
“The AON remains professional and will ensure that the interest of the nation and the industry is paramount to its objectives. He promised that the new executive under his leadership will be accessible, transparent and ensure that the interests of all stakeholders will be addressed always,” Meggison said.
On the proposed national carrier, Meggison said he was consulting with members of AON and would make the Association’s position known in due course.
