Jonathan In Closed-Door Meeting With APC Governors From South West

SAN FRANCISCO, March 11, (THEWILL) – President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday evening (GMT) met behind closed doors with Governors of All Progressives Congress (APC) from the South West.

The main opposition party’s governors that attended the meeting which held inside the Presidential Villa were Mr. Babatunde Fashola (Lagos), Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, (Osun), Dr. Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), and Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

It was not clear what the President discussed with the opposition governors as at press time.

President Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been consulting with political and religious leaders on his almost certain bid to seek re-election in 2015 general elections and needs an overwhelming victory in the South West mainly controlled by the APC to return as President.
