SAN FRANCISCO, June 20, (THEWILL) – A former Supreme Court judge, Justice Niki Tobi, has passed on almost a month to his 76th birthday, The Nation reports.
The newspaper gathered that Justice Tobi died last Friday at the National Hospital, Abuja, from an undisclosed ailment and his remains have been deposited at the Garki Hospital mortuary in Abuja.
The deceased was born on July 14, 1940 in Esanma, Bomadi local government area of Delta State and retired as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court on July 14, 20.
The report says the late jurist, regarded in the nation’s legal circle as a highly brilliant judicial officer, had been ill for some time.
Sources at the Supreme Court disclosed that the court was only informed on Monday about the jurist’s death and the movement of his corpse to the Garki hospital.
