BEVERLY HILLS, CA, October 31, (THEWILL) –  As the All Progressives Congress (APC) continues its membership drive with a visit to Kano State, the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the party in the state, Hon. Sumaila Kawu Suleiman Abdulrahaman, has cautioned  the leadership of the party to refrain from any form of injustice and imposition of candidates.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, Abdulrahaman said: “As democrats, we welcome all  progressive-minded persons into the APC but as a matter of necessity, they must honour and respect democratic tenets and norms which are the cardinal principles that characterise the APC ideology.”

He said while he commends the national leaders for the ongoing drive to expand the tentacles of the party, “I also urge them to ensure that they  reach out to all stakeholders in the party, especially those that played key role in the formation of the APC so that everyone is carried alone. “  According to him, “This is the sure and only way of ensuring harmony in the party in our collective struggle towards deepening of democracy in Nigeria.”

Abdulrahaman submitted that for over a decade, he has consistently voiced out against misrule, injustice and all anti-democratic tendencies in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  adding that “as a member of the APC merger committee, I am not unaware of the tremendous sacrifice our leaders made to achieve this unprecedented feet in the annals of Nigerian politics. “

He said: “If others now have seen the light of what we are doing, they are welcome and we are happy about it but I must draw the attention of the APC leaders to know that what has brought PDP to its knees now is injustice, imposition and impunity which we all must resist and not allow such to happen in our party

“I wish to restate that, we are against the norms and culture of PDP and we will resist it until we liberate our people from the claws of the monster in PDP, and resist it as all motions  are on ground to ensure APC succeeds come 2015.”
