BEVERLY HILLS, September 04, (THEWILL) – Former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu, grabbed a hat-trick for the Gunners as the Arsenal Legends took on their counterparts from AC Milan, Milan Glorie, on Saturday in a charity match.
Despite being 40-years-old, Kanu’s potency in front of goal was something which got Gunners fans excited as the gunners won by 4-2.
The Gunners fielded Martin Keown, Gilberto Silva, Marc Overmars and Robert Pires – who got the fourth goal for Arsenal while the Milan squad included veterans such as Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Costacurta and Zvonimir Boban.
Meanwhile, Manchester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, grabbed the lone goal as the Super Eagles defeated visiting Taifa Starts of Tanzania in the formality Africa Nations Cup qualifier between both countries in Uyo.
An outstanding performance by Tanzania goalkeeper, Aishi Manula, ensured a low scoreline as the Eagles, under new coach Gernot Rohr, created a rash of chances in the first 45 minutes but somehow they could not make any of them count.
Iheanacho scored in the 78th minute with a powerful long range left footer from outside the box, from a corner kick which sent the fans at the Godswill Akpabio stadium into a frenzy.
