May 06, (THEWILL) – Frank Lampard celebrated his 100th Premier League game as manager by finally ending Chelsea’s six-game losing streak.

The Blues’ record since Lampard returned to the club has been dismal, but late goals from Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix saw Chelsea claim a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth. Conor Gallagher had given the visitors an early lead before Matias Vina’s equaliser, with the Cherries missing numerous chances to win the game.

For Lampard, it was his first win in 17 matches, dating back to his time at Everton, and his first with Chelsea in 832 days. The result moves Chelsea three points ahead of Bournemouth, but they remain in the bottom half of the table. Lampard made five changes from the side that lost to Arsenal on Tuesday, dropping Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling, while Bournemouth remained unchanged.

The victory was a welcome relief for Lampard and Chelsea, who have struggled this season under their American owners. Meanwhile, Bournemouth have gone from strength to strength since Texas businessman, Bill Foley, completed his takeover in December.

The Cherries, who won six of their previous nine games before the defeat to Chelsea, will now turn their attention to a crucial match against Crystal Palace on Saturday. The Blues will lock horns with Nottingham Forest on the same day.
