James Milner is set to miss England’s friendlies with Spain and France due to a hamstring injury.
The Liverpool midfielder picked up the knock during Thursday’s 1-0 Europa League win against Rubin Kazan in Russia and was substituted in the second half.
Milner was left out of the Reds team to face Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday, the first time he has missed a Premier League match for the club since joining in the summer, and is now unlikely to join up with the national team ahead of the trip to Spain for Friday’s match in Alicante.
Roy Hodgson’s side, who will also be without injured trio Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Daniel Sturridge, face the French at Wembley on November 17th as they prepare for the European Championships in June 2016.
