August 11, (THEWILL) — Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has agreed to join Everton on a season-long loan, with a medical scheduled for Monday.
The 29-year-old has struggled for game time under Pep Guardiola this season and is seeking regular football ahead of next summer’s World Cup under new England manager Thomas Tuchel.
The deal, worth about £12m including loan fees, will see both clubs share his reported £300,000-a-week wages. Negotiations over wage distribution were a sticking point before the agreement was reached.
Grealish, who joined City from Aston Villa for a record £100m in 2021, has won three Premier League titles, the Champions League and the FA Cup, but his influence dipped after the club’s 2022/23 treble win.
He was left out of England’s Euro 2024 squad.
Everton manager David Moyes, back for a second spell at the club, prioritised the winger’s signing. The deal, pending medicals and paperwork, is expected to be the Toffees’ biggest signing since moving to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
